Dear friends and companions of Malteser International,
339 million people worldwide are dependent on humanitarian aid. Although this is an alarming number, the pain and suffering of millions of those people are often overlooked by the media and they do not receive the attention they deserve.
Let’s take a moment to remember the forgotten crisis in Lebanon, where 75 percent of the population lives below the poverty line. People are struggling to afford basic necessities such as food and medicine. During my recent visit to the region, I was able to appreciate the dedicated work of our colleagues on the ground, who, among other things, distribute nutritious meals to the most vulnerable and facilitate their access to medical care.
Conflict and displacement have left millions of people in need of humanitarian assistance in South Sudan. Many families have been forced to flee their homes, leaving behind everything they own and facing severe food and water shortages. We provide emergency food assistance, clean water, and sanitation to those affected by the crisis.
In Bangladesh, the Rohingya refugee crisis continues to be one of the world's most pressing humanitarian emergencies. More than a million Rohingyas are living in overcrowded camps, where they are at constant risk of disease outbreaks. Our colleagues on the ground provide medical treatment and psychosocial support to those in need.
To draw attention to forgotten humanitarian crises, Malteser International has joined forces with 29 other aid organizations to take part in the #IntoFocus campaign, initiated by the German Federal Foreign Office.
The people affected continue to need our support. You, too, can help.
Donate now and help us bring forgotten crises in Lebanon, South Sudan, Bangladesh and many other places #IntoFocus.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous support.
Yours sincerely,
|

A delegation of members of Malteser International, Malteser in Deutschland and Malteser Austria recently had the opportunity of visiting the multiple projects of the Order of Malta Lebanon.
The delegation was able to visit various components of the projects supported by Malteser International, including the community health centers and the mobile medical units, the agro-humanitarian program, as well as the mobile community kitchens and had the chance to exchange with the beneficiaries and the volunteers. They also had the opportunity to witness the humble service of the Caravan team with persons with disabilities.
Order of Malta Lebanon: "We are proud to be working with you, and we deeply appreciate your warm hospitality and unwavering dedication to our shared mission to help the people in Lebanon live a healthy life in dignity. Your commitment and tireless efforts have made a significant positive impact on the lives of the people we are privileged to work alongside every day. Without our collective partnership, such impactful work would not be possible."

Malteser International (MI) congratulates HMEH Fra’ John Dunlap on his election as Grand Master of the Order of Malta. MI Secretary General, Clemens Graf von Mirbach-Harff, responded to the news by saying:
“On behalf of the whole MI family, I would like to extend our sincere good wishes to His Most Eminent Highness on his election. I would like to thank him for the ongoing close and fraternal cooperation with MI during his time as Lieutenant of the Grand Master.
Just weeks ago, his immediate, positive, and unequivocal support for MI’s work for those affected by the Earthquake on the Turkish-Syrian border helped the Order to save countless lives by channeling resources and prayers from around the world to where they were needed most. MI remains committed to living out the fulness of the Order’s mission of service to our Lords the poor and the sick, shoulder to shoulder with our brethren around the world.
I am fully confident that the governance of the new Grand Master will help us to do this in a spirit of steadfast faith, unfailing hope, and sincere charity."
