Dear Friends,

This month, the World Health Organization (WHO) sounded a global alarm on the Ebola crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since the first reported outbreak in August 2018, over 2,500 people have been infected and 1,698 have died. In terms of severity, this outbreak is second only to the West African epidemic of 2014.

We have been on the ground, working with the Congolese government and WHO to strengthen infection prevention and control activities by supporting health facilities to identify and treat Ebola cases, communicating with the people to address misinformation about the disease, and setting up hygiene stations.

However, these efforts are challenged by the realities of fighting an epidemic in a conflict zone. As our teams work around the clock to help communities prevent the spread of this deadly virus, your support is urgently needed.

So please, donate now and help ensure we can quickly respond to stop the outbreak.

Yours truly,

Ingo Radtke
Secretary General
