| Uganda: Improving health capacities in the fight against COVID-19
As part of Germany's support in the fight against COVID-19 in Uganda, Malteser International's partner hospitals in Lubaga and the National COVID-19 hospital received two ventilators. Both devices will be used in ambulances that transport severe cases of COVID-19 to intensive care units.

| Breast cancer awareness in Syria
In October, many people wear pink ribbons to raise awareness on breast cancer, the most common cancer among women. This month, campaigns by Independent Doctors Association, our Syrian partner, helped many women to learn more about prevention, early detection, treatment, and recovery.

In Colombia, Malteser International offers pregnant women who are refugees and migrants access to integrated prenatal and postnatal care. Five hundred pregnant women are benefiting from this program.
