Every crisis leaves its mark not only on cities and homes but also on people’s hearts and minds. Losing one’s house, sense of safety, or future plans can deeply shake anyone’s mental well-being.
More and more Ukrainians need support
After more than three years of war, our local partners in Ukraine continue to reach an ever-growing number of children and adults struggling with trauma, fear, and uncertainty. Mothers who can barely sleep through the night. Fathers returning home forever changed by the frontlines. Children who panic at the buzzing of flies – because it sounds like drones overhead. Together with our partners, we offer psychosocial support and safe spaces that help restore resilience, stability, and a sense of hope.
Winter deepens the crisis
As the cold, wet, and dark months of winter approach, life becomes even more difficult for people in war-affected regions. In Eastern Ukraine, constant shelling and frequent power and water outages continue to worsen the humanitarian situation. Malteser International and our partners are preparing to deliver winter relief packages – including warm blankets, mattresses, pocket stoves, solid fuel as well as food, and hygiene items – to families in greatest need.
